Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients
6 cups Rice Krispies (or the cereal of your choice — I added some frosted flakes in mine!)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
10z bag of marshmallows
Sea Salt
Optional: 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
Directions
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk or stir the butter frequently as it melts. Watch carefully as lightly browned specks start to appear in the bottom of the pan. Once the butter begins to turn an amber color, remove it from the heat for 5 minutes allowing the butter to cool.
Put the mixture back over low heat and add in the marshmallows and protein powder. Stir until completely melted then remove from heat.
Add cereal and stir until well coated. Prepare your pan by coating with nonstick spray.
Using a spatula, wax paper, or buttered hands press the mixture into the pan. Sprinkle the rice krispie treats with sea salt. Cool for 1-2 hours. Cut into 2-inch squares.
